Modern bus stations opened in four regions of Turkmenistan

Modern passenger bus stations have been put into operation today in the Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov participated in the solemn ceremony of their opening in the format of a teleconference via a digital system, announced the news program “Watan” of the Turkmen television.

Speaking with a welcoming speech, the President of Turkmenistan noted that the commissioning of modern passenger terminals in Balkanabat, Dashoguz, Turkmenabat and Mary is of great importance on a national and regional scale.

“The new passenger terminals will become an important link in the international transport corridors of the independent Motherland, they will not only serve the happy Turkmen people, but will also increase the country’s transit and transport potential,” Serdar Berdimuhamedov said.

Expressing firm confidence that the bus stations, which have comfortable conditions for passengers and drivers, will serve the Turkmen people for many years, the head of state blessed their opening.

Passenger bus stations in Balkanabat, Dashoguz, Turkmenabat and Mary were built by order of the PA Balkanawtoulag, Daşoguzawtoulag, Lebapawtoulag and Maryawtoulag of the Türkmenawtoulaglary Agency (“Turkmenawtomobili”) of the Transport and Communications Agency under the Cabinet of Ministers.

The total area of each of the facilities is 30 thousand square meters, they are designed to serve 700 passengers per day and provide high-quality services to bus passengers on urban, suburban and intercity routes.

Open and covered parking areas of 2 thousand 150 and 2 thousand 100 square meters can accommodate 100 and 112 cars, respectively.

Each of the terminals has a forecourt, a parking lot for arriving international and intercity buses, and an area for city regular buses and taxis.

The main facilities of the facilities consist of two-story buildings that combine modern architectural trends and national flavor. The roofs of the buildings, made in the form of an eight-pointed star, are decorated with carpet ornaments inherent in each of the regions.

The images of the unique historical monuments of the velayats add special beauty to the main entrances to the bus stations, and from the inside, the upper part of the building is decorated with illuminated images resembling olive branches.

Inside the main buildings there is a multimedia screen for electronic online tickets, information LED monitors of various sizes. Passengers will be able to get any information they are interested in about the schedule of long-distance and international flights, the availability of tickets, their cost, etc.

Besides that, on the first floor of the car terminals there is a waiting room for 140 passengers, a ticket office for bus tickets, and also for air and rail transport, an inquiry service, a luggage storage room, and various office premises. Passengers can use a pharmacy, first-aid post, communication services, shops.

On the second floor of the main building of the bus stations there is a hall for mother and child, a beauty salon, a cafe, etc. There are also a children's playground and shops.

During the opening ceremony of new transport infrastructure facilities, quality certificates were awarded confirming the full compliance of the functionality of passenger terminals in Balkanabat, Dashoguz, Turkmenabat and Mary in terms of transportation by buses and taxis, as well as services provided to the population, with all the requirements for movement established by the NVA.

On the occasion of the opening of passenger terminals on behalf of the President of Turkmenistan, the keys to comfortable vehicles were handed over to the Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats.

In accordance with the national tradition, representatives of the older generation performed a rite of blessing - they sprinkled flour on the cars, fanned them with the smoke of yuzarlik and offered prayers for the prosperity of the Fatherland under the leadership of the head of state.
