The annual campaign, held from 1 to 30 September, is aimed at reducing traffic accidents and drawing attention to the safety of all road users. The slogan of the launched campaign "Road safety - the peace of our lives" also corresponds to the set goals.
Relevant events are being held all over the country these days. Thematic conferences on the implementation of measures to ensure road safety have been organized in ministries and sectoral departments.
Educational work on training and education of competent road users is carried out in educational institutions. Preventive conversations are also held among the population about the rules of the road and responsibility for traffic violations.
Improving road safety has been identified as one of the priorities of the state policy. Thus, in May 2022, the Law “On Amendments to the Law of Turkmenistan “On Road Safety” and the Law of Turkmenistan “On Amendments and Amendments to the Code of Administrative Offenses of Turkmenistan” came into force in our country.
The improvement of the regulatory framework is due to the desire to achieve compliance by citizens and drivers with the Rules of the Road.
At the same time, the country is successfully implementing targeted programs for the construction of roads, bridges and the corresponding road transport infrastructure that meets high international requirements and standards.
At the offsite meeting of the State Security Council, Minister of Internal Affairs M. Khydyrov reported to Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the work carried out as part of Road Safety Month. And also about the organized events to optimize the traffic flow in Ashgabat and the velayats, to increase the awareness of pedestrians and drivers about the rules of the road.
Noting the importance of the action “Road safety is the peace of our life”, the President instructed the Minister of Internal Affairs M. Khydyrov to control the implementation of all planned events.
