Farmers of Turkmenistan collected over 1,250 million tons of "white gold"

President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received reports from the khakims of the Akhal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap and Mary velayats on the successful fulfillment of contractual obligations for the production of raw cotton by the country’s farmers.

In the year of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the sacred independence of the Motherland, Turkmen cotton growers, tenants, machine operators collected more than 1,250 thousand tons of white gold. Having honorably fulfilled their obligations, the farmers of the country continue to work at a rapid pace to gather the grown crop till the last box.

Cotton fiber is also in demand at enterprises producing medical cotton wool, hygienic and cosmetic products, as well as at factories of the medical industry specializing in the production of various wound and cut management materials and other products.

Significant financial resources are allocated for irrigation and reclamation of farmland, renewal of the technical park of the industry. For these purposes, the state regularly purchases various equipment from leading world manufacturers.

Heartfelt gratitude was expressed to the President of Turkmenistan for his all-round care for the development of the agricultural industry and its hardworking workers, as well as wishes of good health for many years, inexhaustible energy and new outstanding successes in tireless work for the benefit of his beloved Homeland.

Young envoys from each velayat, who arrived in the capital especially for this occasion, brought with them full khorjuns of snow-white raw, symbolizing the labor victory of the villagers.

With great enthusiasm and pride for cotton growers, young representatives of the regions read inspired poems glorifying the grandiose successes of the Motherland in the epoch of power and happiness.

Thanking the children for their congratulations and wishes, the head of state presented them gifts. By the request of the children – the growing successors of the wonderful traditions of agriculture – the President of the country took a picture with them for memory.

Addressing the audience, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov noted that in the year of the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the country’s independence, courageous farmers have achieved great labor victories and celebrate the Harvest Festival with a worthy gift.

Having handed over more than 1,250 thousand tons of high-quality cotton to the receiving garners of the Motherland, they honorably fulfilled their contractual obligations. In this regard, the head of state highlighted that this is the result of the cohesive and painstaking work of cotton growers and all workers in the agricultural sector.

The leader of the nation noted the great contribution to the labor victory of the farmers of the Geoktepe and Baherden etraps, as well as the Ak Bugdai etrap of the Akhal velayat, the Makhtumkuli and Bereket etraps, the Esenguli etrap of the Balkan velayat, the S.A.Niyazov etrap, the Gubadag and Akdepe etraps of the Dashoguz velayat, the Charjev, Darganata and Sayat etraps of the Lebap velayat, Takhtabazar, Bayramali and Vekilbazar etraps of Mary velayat.

In the years of independence, along with other sectors of the economy, the agro-industrial complex has been developing at an accelerated pace. The accomplishing transformations are bearing positive fruits, the President of Turkmenistan said, noting that the state creates all conditions for the high-performance work of daikhan, providing them with modern equipment, fertilizers, water and requires.

“All this increases the love of the village workers for the land, the desire to get a rich harvest. And the good yield of the native land is the wealth of the Motherland, the prosperity of the people,” emphasized the leader of the nation.

Having once again cordially congratulated cotton growers and all agricultural workers on the current labor victory, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov wished them good health, family well-being, and new great successes for the benefit of the Motherland.
