The President of Turkmenistan took a bike ride in the foothills of the Kopetdag and visited the presidential Akhal-Teke equestrian complex

Following the established tradition, on the morning of the day off, President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, after doing physical exercises, went for a bike ride in the foothills of the Kopetdag.

During the bike ride, the head of state admired the delightful landscapes of the foothills, the splendor of the white marble Ashgabat, which this year celebrated the 140th anniversary of its foundation.

As the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports today, having proclaimed one of the key tasks to strengthen the principles of a healthy and active lifestyle in society, the head of state sets an inspiring example to all compatriots, and especially the young generation, regularly engaging in physical education and sports.

In accordance with the UN General Assembly Resolution adopted at the initiative of the leader of the nation, a new holiday has emerged that unites countries and peoples - World Bicycle Day, which is celebrated on June 3.

The construction of a modern indoor cycling track that meets international standards as part of the Olympic town of the capital, the inclusion of cycling in the program of the V Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games held in Ashgabat in 2017 in Ashgabat, and the regular holding of mass bike rides at the initiative of the head of state led to a significant increase in amateurs and fans of this discipline.
